Move Update

Hello Friends and Family-
Many of you have asked me lately “if we have moved yet”, so I wanted to send out a quick update and let you know that “no, we have not moved yet.” As you know we were anticipating moving at the beginning of February, but as life has it we have been incredibly busy and have not pulled the trigger yet. Right now we have put our move to the farm off indefinitely. Therefore, our contact information is the same that it has always been. If you need that contact informaiton for any reason send me an email to: coblelaura@hotmail.com and I will send it to you.

We will keep you posted on our moving plans as they arise.

Take care and we will talk to you soon,

Taylor’s Day with Aunt Mary

Today my little boy spent the day recovering with his Aunt Mary. From what I understand he wore her out watching Star Wars, but she swears they had a lot of fun. Taylor has to spend the next five days out of school, so we are so thankful that Aunt Mary could step in and help us out. I am afraid without her help, over the past three weeks, that Ryan and I would have been fired from our jobs because of all the work as we would have missed taking care of sick babies.

Funny Taylor story – evidently today Taylor asked Aunt Mary if it was 12:00 yet so he could eat lunch. She said, “No it is only 10:30.” So Taylor asked if he could have his Pizza Lunchable early. Then he proceeded to tell her that he is not allowed to eat until 12:00, but he really wanted lunch. (I don’t know where he came up with that rule because I frankly don’t care what time he eats, just as long as he eats.) Pizza Lunchable’s are his very favorite, so we stocked up on them for this week. He just could not wait to get his little hands on one.

Another silly Taylor picture:

I think that Lucy is mad at me because I am trying to get her picture while she was crying, and she had to share her mommy with Taylor today. I sure do appreciate your understanding Lucy, and really appreciate your mommy's help.

Arkansas Weather

Yesterday: inches of snow

Today: 68 degrees outside

You know what they say about Arkansas Weather: If you don’t like it, just wait a day. I am so ready for consistent springtime weather though.

Funny Taylor Story

As Taylor recovers from his surgery he continues to feel some discomfort; therefore, we are keeping him on his prescription pain medicine as needed. Well, today it became evident that he was taking more than just Tylenol! While he was napping he jumped up abruptly and started to stumble over to the kitchen. When I asked him what he was doing he said, “I have to go to the bathroom mom.” We’ll the next thing I know he has stopped at the trashcan and is starting to pull down his pants. I quickly redirected him to the potty. He always keeps me on my toes.

He is doing well today. We are just taking it easy and watching lots of movies. I think he is starting to get a little bit bored, but he is handling it in stride. We will keep you posted as he heals.

Update Continued

We have the greatest friends and family around. We have gotten so many wonderful emails, calls, and support as we headed into this surgery and we just want to recognize how blessed and thankful we are. The other day before we left town the Lewis’s brought Taylor a plate of cookies and a picture that Kenneth had painted for Taylor’s surgery. Also when we got home today on the front porch Taylor found a gift that my company had sent to him (flowers and a new puppy lovie). You all are wonderful thank you so much for everything, especially your thoughts and prayers.

Taylor Update

We want to thank you all for your prayers and messages over the past couple days. Taylor’s surgery went really well this morning. The doctor was pleased with the process, and Taylor is really starting to come around tonight. Now, if we can only keep his bandages on him for a few more days we will be in good shape! We are so blessed to have such a strong support group and all of you as friends.

For those of you who don’t know when Taylor was 8 months old we had tubes put in his ears to help prevent the continuous ear infections. By the time he was eight months old he had has roughly 7-10 ear infections back to back to back. The tubes worked great because to this day he has not had another ear infection. Unfortunately one of his tubes never fell out, so when he was three years old the doctor went in and surgically removed the tube. In the process he discovered that skin had started to grow up over the eardrum (which is not a good thing). The doctor removed the skin, and left the hole in his eardrum to insure that the skin did not grow over the eardrum again. Our doctor has been watching it closely for the last two years to insure that everything was okay before repairing it. So basically he walked around for two years without an eardrum in his right ear.

The procedure that they did today was to graft in his right eardrum. I will not gross you out with all the details, but basically they removed his eardrum, so they could work on it, and built it back with a piece of this own tissue. Then they put everything back together and stitched him up. His hearing has probably been affected a little bit from not having an eardrum for the last two years, but the doctors are optimistic that we will be able to correct it assuming that the procedure they did today takes properly.

Taylor was a little bit hesitant about the procedure this morning, and absolutely broke our heart when he woke up saying “I’m scared mommy, I’m scared mommy.” But by the time we were back talking with the doctors and his favorite male nurse, he had really loosed up and was joking with them. He was quite cranky after having the anesthesia, but settled down and came thru after sleeping in my arms for two hours post op. It was quite an experience for mom and dad, but I know that we are stronger parents for going thru this together.

The procedure has a 90% success rate, so we will go back in three weeks to insure that everything took correctly. We would ask that you keep Taylor’s healing process and the success of the procedure in your prayers. I am not sure that we could put him back thru this surgery again if it does not take correctly.

For the next seven days we are just hanging around watching movies (Star Wars and Narnia) and trying to keep Taylor as still as possible. Witch if you have ever met my Taylor Man you would know this is not an easy task.

Prayer Request Please

My little Taylor is having surgery in Little Rock on Friday to repair a ruptured Ear Drum. If you don’t mind we would ask that you please help us pray for a safe surgery, and also pray that the procedure takes and that his ear and hearing problems can be corrected. We appreciate your support.

Momma and T-Ball

Quick update:
1. Today Emma Grace started saying momma momma momma, and it made this momma so very happy!!!

2. Also today was Taylor’s first day of T-Ball practice, and he absolutely loved it. We were a little bit hesitant to sign him up for it, but tonight he walked out on the field like he owned the place. This is not very Taylor – he is usually very shy and he hates new environments. Well he does not necessarily hate new environments, but it takes him a very long time to adjust (he usually spends the first 20 minutes clinging to my leg). But tonight he did very well, and seemed to really enjoy himself. Daddy and I are very happy!!!

Birthday Celebrations Continued

Last night we met up with Grandma Susan, and Pop Roy because they wanted to celebrate Taylor’s birthday with him. Taylor got to pick the spot and he chose Chuck E Cheese. We had a lot of fun. Taylor you are so funny because you have gotten to the point where you only make funny faces when I try to take your picture.

Happy 8 Months Emma Grace

Emma I can’t believe that another month has come and gone, and you are now 8 months old. Time has really snuck up on us, and you are becoming quite the little lady. You are so busy, and into everything. You have not figured out how to crawl forwards yet, but you are getting closer and closer every day. You love your daddy more than anything in the world. He can walk into a room and you will light up from one end down to the other. You love to say: da da da da da da. And you are really working on momma, and sometimes I think I hear you trying to say Wawa aka Laura. You are such a little doll and I am so glad to have known you for 8 months now.

P.S. - you also really like to lick things these days.

Taylor Stories:

1. Today we were sitting in Taylor’s room playing and Taylor looked at me and said “mom I really wish that I could Marry my Sister Emma Grace.” I said “why do you wish that Taylor.” “Because you and her mom are my favorite girls in the whole wide world.” You are so sweet Taylor, you just make my heart sing happy songs all the time.

2. Also today while we were playing Taylor confessed to me that there is a little boy in school that the kids like to make fun of him for his name. The little boy’s name is Devi (pronounced D-V), and evidently the kids in the class like to call him DVD, and Taylor thinks this is historical. He also confessed that he pertakes in this as well. I told him that he must go to school tomorrow and apologize to Devi for making fun of his name, and not to ever do it again. Sometimes kids can be so crule and I did not realize that it started so young. But I did feel this story was blog worthy because it is pretty funny five year olds would come up with this.

3. The other day we were driving to playschool and Taylor said “mom, why does Emily have to go to school on Saturday?” I said “she don’t go to school on Saturday.” “Yes she does mom because if she did not have school on Saturday then she would come home to Arkansas for the weekend.” I said “Taylor her home is in New York right now.” Taylor said “no it is not mom her home will always be in Arkansas.”

Auntie Emily was home to visit last week and Taylor had so much fun playing with her. He did not want her to leave and as you can see from above he has a tough time while she is gone.

Sick Emma Grace

This week Emma Grace has been so sick with double ear infections. For the last month it has been one thing after another with this poor little girl. Thankfully her wonderful Aunt Mary graciously agreed to watch her and take care of her for Ryan and me this week so we did not have to miss work. I don’t know what we would have done if we had to miss another week of work. Mary was such a lifesaver for us. I’ll be real honest – I sure do miss “Sick Manna” (my mom). When she was in town she would always keep the kids for us so we did not have to miss work. Mary did an excellent job, but I imagine it had to have been hard on her to watch two little ones all day, for three days in a row.

Mary we appreciate you more than you will ever know – Thank you so much for your help this week.

I stole a couple of the pictures that Mary took this week off of her blog. Enjoy looking at these cute girls!!!
Have you ever seen anything so cute in all your life....

Lucy and Aunt Emily (who we miss so much, and who we wish would start blogging again):

Looking so much like her daddy:

Pulling on her hurt ears, while talking to Lucy:
P.S, – On top of Emma’s double ear infections we just discovered last night that she is also teething (getting in her first bottom tooth). Poor baby girl just has so much going on right now, but she is handling it like a champ.

Emma still able to wear her 0-3 month dress. She is such a little girl.

Today Emma go to spend the day at Aunt Mary’s house because she was not feeling well, and Aunt Mary and Aunty Emily took such good care of her. Thank you guys. We love you and don’t know what we would do without you.

More Birthday Pictures

Birthday Boy

Taylor yesterday we celebrated your 5th Birthday. I can’t believe that it has already been 5 years since the day you were born. Sometimes I will say “Taylor could you please stop growing up so fast?” and you say “but mom, God is making me grow up fast because I have to be a soldier one day.” I guess your right little boy – God does have special plans for you and he is only letting me borrow you for a very short time. It is such a pleasure to be your mother and watch you grow up every day. Happy Birthday my little sunshine!!!

This year you were really into Star Wars. You got all the cool gear. And also had a Star Wars celebration at school with all of your friends. I hope you had a lot of fun.

Man-cation

Next weekend Taylor and Ryan are going to pack up and go down to the lake house for a boy’s fishing trip while Mary and I take the girls for a shopping trip in Branson. Taylor was telling me about his trip the other day and he was so excited to have some boy time with daddy. He said they were going to stay up late, eat popcorn, watch movies, and play. He also keeps referring to their weekend as “man-cation.” This is what his daddy calls trips that him and his brothers go on. I can’t wait to hear all about man-cation when they get back!!!
