Love Bugs

Twin's Christmas

Oh how I love these babies.  Look how sweet they are holding hands and touching each other. (I promise I will not always let Preston touch Addison’s breast.)  They have an incredible bond – one that I am not sure I will ever fully understand.

Christmas 2011

What a wonderful Christmas we had as a family of 6!  Plus Aunt Emily came to stay with us, and Manna and G-Daddy came to visit.  And we had the most wonderful Seafood dinner with Mary, Jonathan, and Lucy.  I love Christmas and I love it even more with my extra-large family.  The big kids each got Flying Turtles and really seemed to love them - they have been riding them for days.

Aunt Emily spent all of Christmas week with us!  We are so glad she is home from college!

Emma Grace liked the babies toys more than her own.
Daddy and Addison had the best Christmas nap!
G-Daddy and Preston
Manna
So sweet touching each other:

Christmas Eve at Nene and Poppy's

We had a wonderful time at Nene and Poppy's house on Christmas Eve. Well that is until we had to head to the ER to get Addison's ear infection diagnosed.

2011 Christmas Ornaments

I did not get around to getting everyone one but I did find these two ornaments for me and Ryan to help represent the twins birth!

Emma Grace's 2011 Christmas Program

Emma Grace did such a good job at her Christmas performance this year.  She was so very excited to see all of her fans in the audience.  She just waved and waved and smiled and smiled at us.  I love this little girl so much!

Four Months Old

Wow how the twins are growing so fast.  I can’t believe they are already 4 months old (a third of a year old).  The days are passing by so quickly!  Both babies go for their four month check up tomorrow so I will have an exact weight for them.  But they are roughly 13 pounds.  Preston is about to roll over, and he like to do sit-ups in his swing.  Addison is very continent when she is held.  Both babies are smiling really big and laughing at mommy and daddy when they are entertained.  They both still sleep a lot – probably about 19-20 hours a day.  They are both still up in the middle of the night at least once!  Preston loves to watch TV.  Addison is just starting to get over her first ear infection.  They are both still breastfed, and wearing cloth diapers on the weekend.  I am looking forward to experimenting with homemade baby food in a couple months.  Oh how we love these babies.

2012 Year End Review

WOW! What a year it has been. We can sum it all up by saying that “we are so thankful we all survived. And we are thankful to be moving into 2012 as a healthy happy family of 6 and starting a new chapter in our life.”

Highlights from 2012 include:
• Being blessed with a third pregnancy!
• A wonderful trip to Disney World
• Finding out we were having twins
• Moving to the Farm
• Selling our House
• Emma Grace becoming a Big Sister
• Taylor being accepted into the Gifted and Talented
* 6 months of maternity leave/medical leave
• 2,442 baths in the Coble House
• 1,400 little nails clipped
• 8,000+ diapers used ($1,500 spent on diapers)
• 2,520 time babies nursed
• 14 Ultrasounds
• At least 45 doctor appointments
• And 7 visits to the emergency room

I honestly did not know that we could fit so much into a year! And honestly I don’t know how we could have possibly been so blessed throughout this year. Beginning on January 6, 2011 and finding out we were expecting baby number three and thinking “oh Lord, how can we possibly handle this.” And then on March 1st finding out we were expecting twins, and the scariest news of our lives coming the first of May at our Week 20 ultrasound. And the fear of delivering our babies at 25 weeks gestation, and then again at 34 weeks gestation. And let’s not forget the 6 nights spent in the hospital with kidney stones, the ureter stint, and the 10 weeks of bed rest, and not being able to care for my family and having to become completely reliant on others.

Meanwhile Emma Grace was busy turning three, dealing with the anticipation of mom on bed rest/becoming a big sister, not napping anymore, and building an unbreakable bond with her daaaadaaaa (daddy). While Taylor was busy having corrective ear surgery, spending the summer with his Manna on many adventures, and starting the second grade. All the while Ryan was running the house and taking care of everyone’s every need.

But in the end we were blessed with two full term healthy babies!

Obviously the biggest happening of 2011 was the twin pregnancy, birth of the twins, and first 4 months of the twin’s lives. This has probably been the biggest challenge that we have been through as a family, but I am so pleased to be able to reflect back over the past year and see how we have grown as a family and in our relationship with God. This experience has only brought us closer to each other and has been worth the uphill battle.

Life is such a blur right now and it has been a tough year. People often ask “how we do it?” And the answer is simple “we just take it one day at a time.” We have had to cut back in a lot of ways. We spend a lot of time at home hanging out together, but this has truly caused us to become closer as a family and to enjoy the simpler things of life.

I often catch myself saying “Lord what have we done to be so very blessed?” We know that we owe it all to you, and we probably even owe you at this point, so lead us and we will follow and always be your faithful servants.

A special thank you goes out to everyone who helped us get through this year: Manna, Nene, Poppy, Mary, Emily, Jonathan, Pop Roy, Ms. Peggy, Sean, Aaron, Audrey, friends, and the list goes on and on. But most importantly I have to give recognition to my wonderful husband! I have never in all my life seen a man jump in and get as involved as Ryan did in 2011! He is truly the best husband and father a family could ever ask for.

We are looking forward to the adventures of 2012!

Plan B

Not sure that I have blogged much over the past three weeks since being back at work. Time seems to have escaped me! Work is wonderful. My team seems to be excited that I am back, and I am so very thankful that they held my job for me for 6 months! My company is wonderful. I love what I do and the people I get to interact with on a daily basis. For the most part I am able to keep my milk supply up while away from the babies, and pumping four times a day (which I am so thankful for). My company has been very supportive of me and my desire to modify my schedule. I am working 7:30 – 2:00 so that I can pick Taylor up at school every day. I get him picked up and then we head to Wee Friends (daycare within our church) and pick up the three little kids.

Everything is almost picture perfect! With the exception of what it takes to get out of the house in the morning and the madness that is involved with our afternoon and nighttime routine. Every day we have to make sure that we have 10 bottles for the babies, and bags of milk, and diapers. I have to haul all three little kids in using a double stroller. And it takes just as much to get home. At home we have to get homework done, bottles watched, baths, dinner made, and at 10:00 when all children are in bed I try to log back into work and catch up on anything I may have missed or catch up on anything that needs to be completed.

It has been so unpleasant that Ryan and I have discussed becoming a one income household several different times. But we are not really sure that is our desire at this point in our life. So we are moving on to Plan B. Plan B = hire a nanny.

A friend of mine has just decided to become a stay at home mom, which I am very excited about for her and her family. So this opened up a position for her nanny, whom she had been using for almost three years with her twin daughters. (Twin is the key word here because it take a lot of work to work with twins day in and day out.) Ryan and I interview Brittany and then had her over to watch the babies while we observed and we loved her. Brittany starts next Monday and we are praying she is the answer to our prayers!!!
