Mommy's Work Party

Thursday the kids and I packed up and dressed up and headed to my work for the annual Halloween party.  It was so much much fun watching the kids play, and getting to catch up with some of my coworkers that I have not seen much of in the last 19 weeks.  I work at the most amazing company and with even more amazing people!  Taylor dressed up as a cub scout, Emma Grace dressed up as a fairy princess, and the twins dressed up as Twins!  Emma Grace will be able to wear her outfit for the next 9 years because I bought a size 12 because that is all that they had left at the store 5 days before Halloween.

Saturday Family Time

We had a great time yesterday watching the Arkansas game with aunt Emily. The kids and o tried to stay out of the way so we carved our pumpkin. Emma Grace had a blast digging out the inside of the pumpkin and then rubbing oil on the seeds to cook. She is not obscured of anything, I think she will probably be my doctor!

Twins Two Months Old

Yesterday (10/26) the twins turned two months old. Oh my goodness I can’t believe how fast they are growing up. Things are seriously going by too fast – Ryan and I agree that we both feel like we are living in a fog right now because we are so very busy, but we are trying to enjoy every single minute. Taylor and Emma Grace are doing very well with the new babies. Emma Grace love to help out and she is very good at helping with the babies. She is gentle, and she loves to help me put their passies in their mouth. Taylor states “that he helps by staying out of the way.” Funny little guy!

While the twins were getting their shots today, the sweetest thing happened. Preston went first, and when he started to scream bloody murder his sister immediately started to scream bloody murder. I think she felt his pain.

Twin’s stats:

Addison:

Length: 21 ½ inches (10th percentile)

Weight: 9 pounds 4 ounces (10th percentile)

Head Circumference: 15 inches (25th percentile)

Preston:

Length: 22 ½ inches (10th percentile)

Weight: 10 pounds 3 ounces (10th percentile)

Head Circumference: 15 inches (10th percentile)

Did you know that boys and girls have different growth curves? Both twins’ heads measured the same at 15”. I know that is hard to believe that Preston’s is not twice the size of Addison, but I made them measure twice. But Preston is in the 10% percentile and Addison is in the 25% percentile. Interesting isn’t it – I never would have know this if I had not had twins!!!! Makes it all worthwhile.

These two love each other! Even when they are mad they can calm each other down when they are side by side. I love the bond they have, and look forward to watching it grow more closely.

Cousin Time

We had the best time today all day long hanging out with Lila and her parents, Lucy and family, and Aunt Emily. Emma Grace was in hog heaven with all of the friends at the house.

Uncle Aaron came over extra early to go hunting with Ryan and Taylor, and they got a deer. Which was Taylor's first. He was pretty excited.

We love family time!

Baptism After Party

After the twin's baptism we had everyone over for lunch and fellowship.

Aunt Audrey and Uncle Aaron:

Aunt Mary and Memaw. My memaw made the long 10 hour trip over from Alabama to see the twins - it was so good to see her and my Aunt, Uncle and Ms. Minny Pearl. I love family!
Memaw, Aunt Gwyn, and Preston. My Aunt Gwyn's daughter Laurie (my cousin) has twin girls. I guess you can say they run in the family!
Memaw and Addison:
I love these pictures - check out Emma Grace's precious little facial expressions:

She loves her daddy!
My handsome big boy!
And for every celebration we must have a Rick's Cake!
Little snake lovie!

Twin Baptism

On October 9, 2011 the twins were baptized. It was such a beautiful service and Ryan and I felt so very blessed to be able to baptize two healthy babies at just six weeks old. We were reminded how blessed we were with these babies, and we had the opportunity to publicly thank our family, families, and church congregation for their on going prayers for our babies. Without these prayers and support Ryan and I fear where would we would be now. I am so moved by God’s plan for our babies. I don’t know why some of us are blessed in different ways. We tried to deliver our twins at 25 weeks, but luckily the doctors were able to stop my labor, and then the same thing happened at 34 weeks. Only by the grace of God were we able to carry the twins to 37 weeks! Thanks be to God!!!

Reverend Rex Dickey and Addison:

Susan and Rex showing the babies to the congregation:
Mommy and Daddy and Reverend Ben Hines. Special story - Rev. Hines has helped baptize all four of our children and he married me and Ryan. He is a very special man in our live and we are so blessed that he shared in this special day with us.
Baptizing Preston:
Baptizing Addison:
Proof that I do fix my hair, make-up, and wear dresses! It does not happen very often these days, but this was one of those special occasions!
Reverend Susan, Reverend Ben, Reverend Rex:

Love the little outfits that the babies wore, they had matching blankets, hats, and gowns.
