The Coble’s Have the Stomach Bug

Well today marks the day that three of the four Coble’s have gotten the stomach “garbage” (in the words of Taylor Coble) that is going around. I had it on Wednesday, Taylor had a touch of it yesterday, and my sweet Ryan has it today. I just pray that little Emma does not get it – I’m not sure how her little body will handle it.

I hope that we have not spread it to anyone else that we have been in contact. If we have I am so very sorry. Good news is it only last 24 hours!!!

Taylor calls everything “garbage” these days. My favorite is when he says “Oh garbage” and he does not really pronounce the “r” in Garbage. It is pretty funny, but we try to laugh to ourselves, and encourage him to have a more positive outlook in life.

Picture Update

I don't really have any great stories right now but I do have some new pictures that I wanted to upload.

I do have a prayer request though. I would ask that you keep my friend Laine and her family in your thoughts and prayers. I don’t know what to do for her family right now but pray and ask others to pray. Her precious little boy Leighton was born on August 27th with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, and they have been in Children’s Hospital with many emotional ups and downs, ever since then. He is only 7 weeks old and is getting ready to have his second heart surgery. Please pray for Leighton and his family. You can click on this link to view the wonderful blog that his parents created for him. Thank you.

That is why you see it in so many of our pictures – I promise do buy him other really nice clothes but he loves the Tie-Die shirt. Thanks so much Nene!!!

G-daddy trying to get Taylor to wear the tackiest Alabama hat that was ever made. G-daddy kept telling Taylor that it was an Arkansas A on the hat, but after he refused to put it on his head I assured my dad that he was not stupid and he knows the differnce between Alabama and Arkansas.

I did want to put this in writing so I don’t ever forget that at age 4 and a half my Taylor sat down and played a two-hour game of Monopoly with his daddy and me. He played by all the rules and did very well. He had the most money at the end of the game and we figured that made him the ultimate winner. I hope my readers don’t mind my randomness but I really chose to use this blog as more of journal for myself and my children. I love it when others read it but please know that is my number one goal and why things don’t often flow like a book.

What a week…

Well Emma and I have made it to Thursday with her going to half day’s of playschool. She has done really well at school and the teachers just love her they brag everyday about how good of a baby she is. I am so thankful that she is adapting well. I was worried at first because she has always been a little but clingy to her momma.

I have been working form home this week and that has worked out well. It has given me the time to get back in the business and have my hardest separation days at home where I don’t have to tear up around workmates. Speaking of my WhiteWave team they are all on in Chicago this week for a team vacation. I hate I missed out but maybe next time. My boss emailed me this morning at 6:00 and told me that they were standing in line to try to get into the Oprah show today. Hope you guys are all having fun!!! I will see you next Tuesday.

This has not been a quiet and relaxing week because Tuesday night I got the stomach bug that has been going around it sucked really bad. Poor Ryan had to stay at home with me and Emma yesterday because I could not do anything and I was not suppose to touch her. I was also worried that she might catch it form me since we are always in such close contact, and I did not want her to go to school and expose the other babies. But Ryan staying home with me was probably the best thing that could have ever happened. I did not touch Emma all day yesterday so Ryan fed her and changed her all day and she did so good for him. This experience really made me see first had that she is going to be just fine when she starts going to playschool all day. I have the best husband who would stay at home with the two of yesterday and take care of us. He also managed to get my Taylor baby to swim lessons last night. He was definitely Mr. Mom yesterday. Thank you for all of your help my love.

Finally the last update from our week – my parents officially announced on Monday that they were moving to Baton Rouge, LA. It will probably be for only a short while but none the less we are going to miss them. My dad was offered a great job opportunity down there and they are expecting to be down there for about 5 years. It is going to be a great opportunity for them, but I have just not figured out how I am going to tell my Taylor baby that his Manna is going to be out of state for a little while. We will visit them bunches and I know they will be up here so we will all get thru this.

Big, Bad, Horrible, Unavoidable Day

Well today was the day - the big bad horrible day that we all knew had to come. Today was the day that I had to drop Emma Grace off at playschool for part of the day. I started working from home today, and Emma Grace had to go to school for part of the day. It was hard on momma but Emma seemed to handle it well.

I got up extra early this morning so I could start digging into my business and trying to get caught up with what I have been missing over the past 11 weeks. After a few hours of work I got my babies up and got them ready for school. About half way thru the day I just could not handle it anymore and I had to go get Emma.

I think we made a good pass at our first day – I got some work done and Emma spent her first hours away from mommy. It is very hard to leave my baby girl, but I know that each day will get easier and easier.

I don’t remember it being this hard when I left Taylor for the first time. I know with him I did not start to cry until I made it to work and had been there for an hour or so. With Emma I did not even make it out of her classroom before I broke down, and I did not stop crying until I picked her up. I think the difference was Taylor was a very adaptable baby he would go to anyone. I think this was because we used formula with him and anyone could feed him; therefore, he loved everyone. Emma has done nothing but nurse from day one and she is a momma’s girl and really does not like for anyone else to hold her.

I did feel good when I walked in to get her today and Ms. Frankie was in her room. Ms. Frankie was one of Taylor’s teachers when he was in the Red Room at Wee Friends and we just loved her. She took such good care of Taylor and I know she will do a great job with Emma.

I can’t believe that my baby girl is already 11 weeks old and it is almost time for me to go back into the office to work. Time sure does go by fast when you are raising your babies.

Mary and I did get together for a short while late this afternoon so the girls would not go thru withdrawals. Here are some pictures from our visit.

Emma’s Baptism

Emma today we celebrated your Baptism surrounded by your family and friends. It was such a special and memorable day for us all. Your daddy and I promise to do everything we can to raise you to the best of our ability, and teach you about having faith, commitment, and trust in Jesus Christ. You were so beautiful today just like a little angle. We love you sweet baby girl.

The beginning of the church service was so sweet. The children’s choir sang the song I am a Child of the King and they dedicated it to Emma Grace. It made me tear up.
Daddy looks so handsome in his new coat!!!

Fall Fun

We had the most wonderful fall day today. My mom, Mary, Lucy, Taylor, Emma and myself all packed up in my mom huge car (thank goodness she has one that will hold all of us and our 3 car seats) and headed out to the country to find a pumpkin patch so Taylor could pick out his fall pumpkins. Of course we took the opportunity to get some great pictures.

We found this little farm just north of Centerton that had a pumpkin patch, a fall country store, many areas set up for seasonal pictures, old tractors for the kids to play on, and the neatest maze made out of the families field. Taylor and I took the wrong route 3 times before we figured out the maze. They had an old buggy decorated with pumpkins and set up to play on that Taylor just loved. This buggy was probably from the times of the horse and buggy, and Taylor sat up on it for a long time pretending that it was horse driven. Mary and I sat and rocked Lucy in an old swing that they had set up, and watched Taylor play.

Taylor was so funny picking out his pumpkins. Before we left the house I told him that he could have $15 to spend on pumpkins, so the whole time we were out he was very conscious of his budget and worked very hard picking out the right pumpkins that fell within his budget. I bet we spent more than an hour watching him decided which pumpkins he wanted most and which ones he was going to trade for the new one that he had picked out (we only made these trades about 25 times). He came in right and spent exactly $15. It was a pretty fun life lesson to play with him.

I bet we probably spent two hours out at this old pumpkin patch. It was truly the most enjoyable and relaxing afternoon I can remember having in a long time. I highly recommend it to all that are looking for a wonderful time.

And the word of the day is…

Phenomenal. Yesterday Taylor said the word “phenomenal” about 600 times. He would say “my sister is phenomenal, I am a phenomenal big brother, but the best was when he said my aunt Mary she is the most phenomenal aunt anyone could have.” I don’t know what brought this up but she when on and on about his aunt Mary so we had to call her and leave her a voice mail with this information attached. When I asked him where he learned this word from he said “Ms Deb uses big amazing words like this all the time.” Thank you Ms Deb for all that you are teaching our precious little children.

I just want all of Taylor’s Aunts to know that each one of them (Emily, Audrey, Abby and Mary) is phenomenal, but Taylor was just on an aunt Mary kick yesterday.

Sometime Taylor plays the word/number of the day/week/month game. Some of the other words he has adopted have been: weird, boring, and the number infinity.
