NYC Thanksgiving 2009

I am so excited to post about our trip to NYC. It is going to take me a while because I took over 700 pictures, but for now I am going to list what we did, and I will come back later and show you pictures. Just for reference this was a Taylor only trip, Ms. Emma Grace got to stay with her Nene and Poppy back in Arkansas. Which I think was for the best since she will likely not remember the trip anyways. The purpose of this trip was to go and visit my sister Emily, who is up there finishing up her last semester of at NYU. We also though it would be a great time to experience all of the holiday festivities that the city has to offer. In attendance were: G-Daddy, Mary, Jonathan, Lucy, Ryan, Taylor, and myself. Manna could not make it because she was with her father (my grandfather “Bill Bill”) who had just had surgery in Alabama.

Day 1 (Tuesday 11/24):
Had a great plane ride direct from XNA to NYC
Arrived at Hotel at 11:00 pm

Day 2 (Wednesday 11/25):
Got up early and hit the tourist agenda
Saw the Empire State Building but decided that it was too foggy to pay $20 a person to go up.
Flagship Macy’s Store down own 5th Ave
China Town – lunch at Joe’s Shanghai, Saw great big dead pigs being being carried through the streets of China Town
Dillon’s 3 Story Candy Store
FAO Schwartz Toy Store
Dinner in Hell’s Kitchen (area of NYC)
Saw Mary Poppins on Broadway (funny Taylor story to come)

Day 3 (Thursday 11/26):
Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
Central Park Zoo
Ate hotdog at a street vendor
Enjoyed Taylor playing on the big rocks at central park
Dinner at Toni Di Napoli
Boys night out with Emily at the bars – Mary and I watched Julie and Julia (great movie)

Day 4 (Friday 11/27):
Swimming in the Hotel Pool
Mary and I want Black Friday Shopping (with Lucy) on 5th Ave, big mistake, too many people
Museum of Natural History
Dinner at Quality Meats (awesome and highly recommend)

Day 5 (Saturday 11/28):
Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall staring the Rockettes
Saw Rockefeller Tree
Went to the top of Rockefeller Building
Saw the outside of Emily’s apartment!

Day 6 (Sunday 11/29):
Breakfast at the cutest diner ever
Off to the airport by 12:00
Reunited with Emma Grace around 8:00!

What a magical holiday, fairy tale type, wonderful trip – the memories will last a life time. Thank you everyone for such a fun time!!! Mom we missed you.

It was good to see you at the airport. We didn't see you in NYC. I wonder why not? We were at the Metropolitan Museum on Friday. Matthew thought we might see you there! Glad you had a good time. I did too.
