9 Months Old

Wow where in the world has time gone?  I can't believe that my little miracle babies are 9 months old already.  These guys are both sitting up very well, and they are starting to pull up on everything.  It won't be long and they will be walking!  They are starting to eat real food and are doing very well with it.  Preston is taking his time with food but after a few minutes he will swallow it!  Addition loves everything "grown-up".  I think she is ready to quit nursing but I force her to anyway.  Preston is still a "booby baby" and I love.  We get the best snuggle time when he nurses!  I am so very proud of my babies and I thank God for them everyday.

New Home Pictures

This is the house that we are 99.9% certain that we will close on June 29th.  They sells accepted our offer, so as long as everything stays on track we will be good to go!  But I am trying to to count my eggs before they hatch (or before the closing date).

Barcelona Dress Up

Nene and Poppy just got back from a European vacation and they sent the kids a fun package full of Barcelona shirts/dresses/jewelry/candy!  The kids were so excited to get something in the mail.  They really never get anything in the mail because all of our family and friends use to live in the same town!  Emma Grace came out of her room this morning wearing and eating everything that her Nene gave to her!  Oh how I miss our family.

Thank you Nene and Poppy for the surprise!!!!

Atlanta Update

To update the blog on our Atlanta adventure. The kids and I have officially made it through our first week in Atlanta. The first two days were rocky where we met some people who were not very nice. One man came out of his apartment, while we were unloading our miniature u-haul trailer with three screaming babies in the apartment, with no intention to leave, but to tell us that we were in his parking space and we were being very disrespectful. The next interaction came day two when we went to get Ryan’s car from the airport. The shuttle bus driver told us that we “morons from Arkansas” and obnoxiously honked her horn at us. Ryan quickly took me and the kids to some nice suburbs to show us a different side of Atlanta!

Over the course of the week we probably looked through 30 different house. At first I was a little bit disappointed because the houses were very old and pretty small. But we got out of the original school district that I wanted to be in (only by about 5 miles), and we found a wonderful house that has everything that we had hoped for. We put an offer in on it on Sunday and I am pleased to say that it was accepted by Tuesday!!!!! We should close on it on July 2nd.

Of course has been a learning situation, like most new things are. I am just so very thankful that we had my dad to help us walk through the process, and to help us understand the things that we needed to be asking about and looking for. The house has what they call Polybutylene plumbing, which we had never heard of. With this type of plumping it is not a question of “it they will bust” but “when they will bust”. So we will have to have the plumbing replaced before we move in, but from all of our research it does not lead us to believe that it will be a hard process. It should only take about 5 days, and luckily we knew enough about it that we deducted the amount to replace it off of our offer price.

I think we are really going to enjoy our new house. I am prying that we did not just settle because of the challenge that come along with looking for a house with 4 small children! But I really feel that we did a good job getting a sample of everything in the area before deciding. The house has a wonderful back yard, which most houses in the areas that we were looking did not. The house has two main stories, with a wonderful finished basement. It has four bedrooms on the top level, and one bedroom in the basement. For now everyone will be on the top level and as the kids get older we will figure out who gets the basement! It has the most incredible deck on it, which I am so very excited because we love to spend so much time outside. It has a wonderful recently remodeled kitchen with open space to the family room. It has a swim/tennis club, and it is on a street that is only about 1/8 of a mile long, and it is a double cul-de-sac. The elementary school is right across the street from our house. I think the little kids and I will be able to walk Taylor to school in the mornings. I think our family is going to be very happy in this home for a long time to come! I wish I had pictures to show, but again with four small children it was very difficult to even go through houses!

In our free time we have been brining the kids to the pool, the park, the Marietta square, out for ice cream, to the Kennesaw national battlefield. We even went over to one of Ryan’s coworkers for a Memorial Day BBQ. It was so very nice to meet someone who lived in the area.

Problem Solved

This gate system was the best money ever spent!  I have been worn out by chasing two babies around this house, so yesterday Emma Grace and I packed up and went to Babies R Us and bought this wonder "cage."  The babies did not like it at first but 24 hours later they are loving it. I am not sure why I only packed 10 toys for the to play with. I wish I had brought them a few more things!  But I have to admit that they are learning to play with each other very well!  Preston is even learning to pull Addison's hair back, so it is quickly stopping her mean behavior!

Day 4, and Guilt

Well today is the forth day that Ryan has gone to work and I have kissed him good bye and prepared to spend the day playing with my babies. I love playing with my babies all day, but I have this terrible guilt that I am not going to work to help Ryan earn a living. Work is all I have know my whole life. I graduated college on a Saturday and started to work on Monday. Oh well I am sure I will learn to cope;-).

Today we get to pick up Taylor and aunt Emily at the airport. I have missed my little buddy so much! I can't wait to snuggle with him! I have to say that I have really enjoyed spending some quality time with Emma Grace this week. She is such a funny and smart little girl. Unfortunately when her and Taylor are together they fuss all the time and compete for attention. Maybe I can turn that around!

Funny Emma Grace story. The other day we needed to go to Walmart to get a few things so I text Ryan to ask him where it was. He did not respond for a long time. So I asked Emma Grace of she knew where it was, and her response was "it is by the big chicken mom". Sure enough when Ryan text me back I found out it was right across from the big chicken. The big chicken is a huge 70 foot chicken statue on Cobb Parkway that is attached to the KFC, and everyone here uses it at as a point of reference. I guess Emma Grace picked up on this reference point or perhaps Ryan told me how to get there and I was not paying attention to him! I thought it was very clever of her.

I can't believe that this is Memorial day weekend, and we are not headed to Beaver Lake to spend the weekend with our best friends.  I will miss that lake and great family memories being made.  Happy Memorial Day everyone!!!

One Last Play Date

Here is a picture from the girls last play date.  Oh how we miss Lucy, Henry, Aunt Mary, and Uncle "Pooky".  Emma Graco asked my everyday since we have been in Atlanta if we are going to go to Aunt Mary's house so she can play with Lucy.  Breaks my heart.

Day 3

Well we have made it to day 3. I am on day two of my new job (stay to home mom). This is by far going to be the hardest job I have ever had! I only have three of the kids this week and they are about to wear me out! Taylor is in Chicago with aunt Emily visiting the Art Institute of Chicago viewing the Thorn Rooms. He read a book about this exhibit this year and really wanted to go see the miniature rooms. I am ready to have my whole family back in one spot. I am also very ready to find a place to live. The train that runs by this corporate apartment every hour is about to make me crazy! Every night for the past three might I have slept in there room and nursed them all night long just trying to get them to go to sleep. I am not complaining I am just adjusting to out new home.

8 Month Old Pictures

These pictures are a couple weeks old but I wanted to make sure that I captured the twin's 8 month pictures.  I still can't believe how quickly they are growing up.

Last Day in Corporate America

Today marks my last day in corporate America. It has been a wonderful 10 years, and I am so sad to leave the best company on earth, but I am very much looking forward to my new job as full time mommy to 4!

WhiteWave had been an awesome company full of awesome people and awesome opportunities. I will miss it, but I am also happy to announce that WhiteWave has offered to keep me on as a contract worker. I will get our family moved to Atlanta, and we will find a house, and then sometime during the summer I will start doing contract work for them from home for about 10 hours a week.

Saying Goodbye Is Hard To Do...

Friday night I was able to have one last girl’s night with some of my best friends before heading to Atlanta.  I love each and everyone one of these women, and I am going to miss them dearly.  Thanks girls for a special night out.

Welcome to this world Henry David

Baby Bost #2 made HIS appearance yesterday morning around 11:43! We were all so excited to find out that it was a BOY!!! What a fun surprise to keep for 9 months. His name is Henry David, and we weighted 7 pound 5 oz. and was 20 inches long. He is just precious and looks just like his momma did when she was a baby. I love him, and am so happy for Mary and Jonathan.

I got to keep Lucy last night while mom and dad were in the hospital, and what a night it was and memories that were created. Can’t wait to share soon!
