Wonderful Week

What a wonderful week this has been: Mary and Lucy came to see us 3 times, Emma is giving the most beautiful smiles, and Miss. Emma has also rebounded with her Daddy. Her and daddy have had a rough last week and a half. She had gotten to where she would not let Ryan hold her without screaming at the top of her lungs (which is actually a sweet tiny little noise). But after a lot of conversation between the two, daddy doing bath time, and mommy pumping so daddy could feed the to two have reunited. It is so sweet to see Ryan holding his little sleeping beauty. Some days I am still amazed that we had a little girl!!!!

My sister Emily also celebrated her 21st Birthday yesterday!!! Hope you had a wonderful and safe Birthday in Prague sis – we miss you bunches.

Boys will be Boys and Girls with be Girls

Today my little boy grew up a little bit faster than I would have liked. We got a report from his teacher (Ms. Deb) that Taylor was involved in a conversation with two other children where one of the boys was teaching the other two (my Taylor included) how to “flip the bird.” I knew this would happen one day but I was really hoping that he would be about 12 not 4. This child that was teaching the other children has 4 older sisters so I know that is where he learned it, but it will take me a long to forgive him. But to be real honest it really ticks me off that someone even invented “the bird.” How irrelevant of a gesture. If that was not bad enough Taylor got in trouble at dinner because he “flipped his dad off.”

Today my little Emma did not sleep a wink. She was up and fussy all day long. I believe that we might have spent too much time with Lucy yesterday because I am almost certain that Lucy and Emma switched personalities. I believe this because Lucy slept all day today. When I suggested to Mary that we get the girls back together tomorrow, so they could “rub off on each other again” she said “never, never again will they interact with each other.” I think she is enjoying sleeping Lucy. Good news is that it is 9:45 pm and Emma has finally passed out – hopefully for the night.

Taylor you are so sweet and so good with your baby sister. You keep saying “I hope God gives me another baby sister.”

Mary and Lucy Come to Visit 9-8-2008

Today Mary and Lucy came to visit us again, and we had the best time. We fed the animals at Manna’s, went to the Associate Store, and watched movies. You girls were so good. Lucy I don’t know why your mother would call you fussy because you are always so well behaved around your Aunt Laura. I think you are just trying to make a fool out of your mother.

You two are just Two Peas in a Pod, and I look forward to watching the two of you grow up together.

Big News In The Extended Coble Family

We had the best visit with Ryan’s family last night. His grandparent, aunt, uncle, and cousin Tyler were all in town. We all had dinner over at Roy and Susan’s where we heard the best news. Ryan’s brother Aaron and our Sister-in-Law Audrey are expecting their first baby. He/she should be here around May 15, 2009. They are both so excited (especially Aaron he has wanted children for a long time), and they are just going to make the best parents. We are so happy for you Aaron and Audrey. Pictures below from our visit.

Four Generations of Coble’s (Papow, Pop Roy, Daddy, and Emma). I have one of these pictures from when Taylor was a baby and I will treasure them always.

Our first snapshot picture of my whole family. It only took 6 and a half weeks.

Grandmom Joy and Emma

Emma’s First Outing to Church

Today was the first time that we have gone to church since Emma’s birth almost 7 weeks ago. I know that it is pitiful that it has taken us seven weeks but it has been difficult trying to develop a schedule with both children, and not to mention most places make it very difficult for nursing mother to feed their children. (I now understand why you see those mothers who will just whip their boobs out in front of anyone – not sure that I will ever be one of those people but I can empathize.) Anyway we had a good outing. Emma slept thru the church service, and Taylor behaved very well (it is amazing what a package of Starburst will do for a kid in church). Emma and I pretty much missed the majority of Sunday School because we were feeding but all in all it was a very good outing. The most important past was Taylor got to attend the official first lesion of Sunday School for the new school year.

Below are some pictures of Emma in her adorable smocked dress, that she wore to church today, that her Aunt Jennifer gave to her. She looked so cute!!! There are also some pictures of her in the slip that came under the dress (I thought bloomer were great, but slips are just priceless on little babies). Thank you Aunt Jennifer.

A Boys Best Friend

Taylor today we went to Manna’s house to feed her horses for her while she and G-daddy are in Alabama visiting family. You were such a big little helper you knew where everything was and what all of the animals were supposed to be fed. You loved telling me about all of the horse and about each of their personalities. You are such an animal lover.

Your Manna has always encouraged you to help her name her new animals. One of her horse you named Patty Pie, another one of her houses you named Boxy Bottom, one of her Cats you named Sucker Cat, and the list goes on. Manna wanted to name her latest cat Ella but you insisted that she name it Sally, she did not officially change its name to Sally until after Emma was born and everyone called Emma “Ella” and she said “enough the cat is Sally.”

The reason that I am writing this entry is because when we got finished feeding the animals today and were getting ready to go home you looked at me and said “Mom I really think that we need to look for AJ because I have not seen him in so very long.” AJ was Manna’s old farm dog that you grew to love as a baby. You would call him “Hey J.”

Well AJ passed away about six months ago and I just never had the heart to tell you about it. It would have been your first death experience and I think I just wanted to protect your tender little heart for as long as I could. You never seemed to notice that AJ was not around, you just thought he was out chasing other animals, so I left it alone. Today I could not avoid it any longer. After you made your comment I looked at you and said “there was something that we needed to talk about.” Before I could even tell you what had happened you already had tears in your eyes. I went on to explain that AJ had gone to heaven to be with God. That was probably the hardest thing that I have ever had to tell you. I have seen you cry many times before but never like this. Your heart was hurting and there was not much that momma could do to make you feel better. I just held you and we cried together. I’m so sorry about your “Hey J” my little Taylor. I promise I will do everything I can to protect your heart for as long as I can my sweet boy. I love you.

Taylor and Emma

Yesterday as we were getting ready to walk out the door to bring Taylor to school he stopped me, sat down by Emma’s car seat, and said “mom take a picture of me and Emma together.” So I did (see below). Then he sarcastically looked at me and said “now you can put these pictures on Baby.com. And you can put the ones of me on BigKid.com.”

Taylor I don’t even know where you came up with these web addresses but I love the fact that “.com” is part of your vocabulary.
