Delivery Day - Exactly 37 Weeks Pregnant with Addison and Preston

Can't believe we made it this long! My doctor agreed to take the babies one week early due to moms emotional instability! Weeks 35 and 36 were pretty rough on me. But we are so thankful that we made it this far.

First Days of life for Addison and Preston

Here are some pictures from my phone from the twins first couple days of life in the hospital. My husband and best friend cracks me up. He will not cut any corners to keep us entertained. Even if he has to wear a rubber hospital glove on his head.

Addison and Preston - Miracle Babies

Addison and Preston made their appearance this morning via c-section at 37 weeks gestation. Addison was first to be delivered at 7:51 and Preston was second at 7:52. Addison weighed 5 lb 3 oz, 18 and 1/2 in. long, and Preston is 5 lb 8 oz, and 19 and 1/4 in. long. They are both healthy and perfect babies. We thank everyone for their prayers and help in getting them here.

Our Twin Pregnancy History:
The last 37 weeks have been a roller coaster of emotions.  Starting at 12 weeks gestation when Dr. Seale confirmed that we were having twins.  As most know we were not expecting baby number 3 so when we found out that we were pregnant with 3 and 4 at the same time we were a little bit shocked to say the very least!  But we know that God never gives us more than we can handle, and we have held onto that.  Plus we had the best OB doctor who supported us and who really helped us through the process.
Then at 20 weeks gestation at our in depth ultrasound we were told that Baby A (our precious little Addison) had a dark spot in her heart and it potentially could by a sign of Down Syndrome.  And we were told that there was a mass growing on the placenta between both babies – the doctor said it might be cancer.  We needed to go to Little Rock to have a level 2 ultra sound preformed.  Oh Lord our world felt like it was falling in all around us.  This same night I confronted Ryan and told him that I prayed desperately for twins if we were ever to have a third child.  Oh how I wanted twins, but this was the first time Ryan had heard this!!  He was so wonderful and so in love with both of his babies that he had never met, he just held my hand and we prayed together all night long.
At 24 weeks we had our Level 2 ultra sound and the dark spot in Addison heart was no longer there, and the mass between the babies checked out to be normal.  Praise the Lord more prayers answered!  Thank you all of our prayer warriors, including Nene and Poppy who stayed home all day from work this day and prayed together.

Then at 25 weeks I started having contractions that I could not get to stop.  We headed to the ER, and were told that I was dilating, and I was put on modified bed rest.  I started working half days, and spending the other half of the day in bed.
By 27 weeks I was still not able to control the contractions, and they were happening all the time all day long.  By this point I was already having weekly high risk doctor appointments.  Dr. Seale5checked me and said that my cervix had gone from hard to soft in a matter of one week.  At this point I was to quit working and I was put on 100% bed rest at 27 weeks pregnant.  Our goal was to get to at least 31 weeks before our babies made their appearance into this world.  It was a trying time for our family, for my doctor only gave me clearance to take a shower and have dinner with my family.  I was not allowed to make dinner, but I could eat dinner with them.  Wow what stress to put on the rest of the family.  Thankfully my mom had moved in with us and was a huge help.

Praise the Lord again – we made it to 34 weeks before we had anymore scares!  At 34 weeks I went into labor, and so we headed back to the Willow Creek ER.  I was told that both babies were in position (head down) which was the first time they had been in this position during the whole pregnancy, and I was dilated to a 2 now.  They gave me lots of horrible medicine to make the labor stop.  Hours passed and I had progressed to a 3.  By this point the doctor ordered a second round of medicine to stop my labor.  This time it worked and my labor stopped.  I was sent home.  Praise the Lord!!!!  Our babies where still in their hiddy hole.  At this point each day in my tummy was 2.5 days less in the NICU.

Oh yea I would be remiss not to mention the 7 nights that I spend in the hospital between 28 weeks and 30 weeks pregnant with kidney stones.  And the surgery I had to undergo while I was 30 week pregnant so they could put in a ureteral stint because the stones were too big to pass.  And the three weeks of absolute complete misery after this because of the pain from the stint.  Blessings that nothing went wrong form the anastasia or from the surgery.

After being on bed rest for 12 weeks I finally delivered two healthy wonderful babies at 37 weeks gestation.  They are simply perfect and I don’t know how Ryan and I have ever been so very blessed, or how we ever lived life without them.  Our family is finally complete!  Thank you everyone for your prayers and support.

36 Weeks Pregnant with Addison and Preston

Well we have made it. I officially have full term twins hanging out in my uterus. We are very thankful that we have made it this far, and our chances of the babies spending anytime in the NICU after they are born is very slim. Selfishly I can't believe that I am still pregnant, but I am sure that God had the perfect plan picked out for our family, and that gives me a lot of hope.

At my weekly appointment yesterday I begged the doctor to take the babies out earlier than 38 weeks, but she was not sold. I tried to convince her that since I had not gained any weight in the last 9 weeks (since I can't eat or sleep) that the babies must be suffering, but she ordered an ultrasound and it showed great and equal weight gain in both babies (see weight gain below). I prayed that my blood pressure would be high, but in fact it was very low. Right now I am counting down the days until September 2nd, which is when my c-section is set for.

Our ultrasound yesterday did however show that both babies are still transverse. Addison has switched sides from last week, but she still has her backside laying across the bottom of my belly (which would make it darn near impossible to deliver that way). At this point I am desperately researching ways to put myself into labor with transverse babies. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. I have tried everything I possibly can for the past week but nothing has worked, including the squats (which only left my legs sore for 4 days). I am just very much ready to get my life and my household back to something that we can call our new normal.

Weight gained - 30 Pounds

Baby A (Addison) - weighed in at 5 lb. and 10 oz. yesterday

Baby B (Preston) - weighed in at 5 lb. and 9 oz. yesterday

These might in fact be the biggest babies I have ever delivered. I can't believe that I have almost 12 pounds of baby in me right now. Taylor was my biggest born at exactly 39 weeks at 7 lb and 4 oz, and Emma Grace was 6 lb and 6 oz born at 37 weeks and 6 days.

This was the Rick's cake that my mom brought home this week after I had a couple emotional days. Needless to say that the chocolate on white helped!

Thank you everyone for your prayers and your help - 14 days and counting!

First day of school treat

Taylor had a great first day of 2nd grade, so we celebrated with the biggest cup of Yum Yos we could find.

Taylor you while we were having our treat you said to me that "you could not wait until Wednesday because that is when the real work started and you were tiered of just going over the rules." You are such a smart little boy. Your daddy and I are so excited about the opportunities that this year is going to bring for you.

Spoil me Rotten Emma Grace Day

Taylor spent the weekend with nene and poppy in Branson this weekend so Ryan and I were able to have some extra time with Emma Grace yesterday. We got to visit with cousin Lila and her mommy and daddy. And the Emma Grace declared that she wanted to go on an "adventure". So we packed up and went to the park, the pet store, and Krispy Kream (where Emma Grace preceded to take a bite out of all 12 donuts). And if you are wondering this "adventure" did not help me go into labor. But Emma Grace had a blast. We topped the night off by having pizza with the Bost. Here are some pictures from our day.

35 Weeks Pregnant with Addison and Preston.

So thankful we made it to this point, but very ready to be done with this. Disappointing doctors appointment yesterday. I am dilated to a 3, but babies are no longer in the correct position. They are both transverse, again. With them like this I probably will not be able to put myself in labor and will have to have a c-section. I cried all day yesterday. Praying they shift again and end up head down.

The New Pink Crib

Thank you Taylor and daddy for putting our new pink crib together. I am so excited that we were able to find an iron crib that is similar to the one we already had. Thank you manna and g-daddy for the new baby crib!

Sorry Preston but you are going to be sleeping in a pink crib for the first few months of your life, with your sister. It was easier to just set it up than pull the white down stairs.

August 6 Recap

Today I am 34 weeks a nd 3 days pregnant with twins. Last night I was just for sure would be my last pregnant night if my life. My contractions were every 1-2 minutes apart and we were not able to get them to stop so we packed up our car and headed to the hospital. Once we got to the hospital we were told we were 1.5 cm dilated and 75% effaced. But they did not want us laboring this early, so they spent from 9:30 at night to 3:00 this morning trying to get my labor to stop. In the meantime my cervix dilated another half cm. By 3:00 am they were able to get the contractions to stop and my cervix to quit changing. I was really hoping for babies last night but maybe we will make it to the magic week 35. Good news out of the night was our ultrasound showed that both babies are head down (Addison is in the birth canal and ready to make her appearance first). I always figured she would come first, while brother waited in the side wing. She has shown to be very much in charge throughout this pregnancy.

We made it home by 5:00 am and got to get a little bit of sleep before our early risers woke up. Thank you Manna for taking the kids out and entertaining them at the pool this afternoon, so Ryan and I could get a nap.

34 Weeks

We did it we hit 34 weeks today! At my appointment this week I was starting to dilate more and cervix was softing up. I have gained 30 pounds. The doctor told me that I looked great and could not believe I was 33.5 weeks with twins. I have never in any of my pregnancies had a doctor tell me I am doing great with my pregnancy weight. They always tell Mr to slow down on the weight gain! It helps carrying twins because I really don't have room to eat anything.
