Baseball 2010

Here are a few pictures of Taylor and some of his baseball teammates. This boy love to go to the games and socialize with his friends. He could really careless about the game but the conversation and play are always a good time! This year the kids are using the pitching machine for the first time, and on Friday Taylor made contact with the ball for the first time, but unfortunately this hand was in-between the bat and the ball and he left the field in tears. We just keep practicing and we can see progress every day.

Taylor – your daddy and I love you and are so proud of you for being such a dedicated ball player! And the little social butterfly that you are. After every game you always tell me someone who is on the other team that you know, and you want to go and find them and talk. The little boy in the below pictures with you is Brandon. You and Brandon were in Pre-School together.

Emma Grace you are the dirtiest little girl I have ever met! You spent all night in the dirt.

Funny Taylor Story

This morning while Taylor was lying in bed I snuggled up with him and asked him “what he told his daddy that he wanted for breakfast.” He replied “two pancakes,” and then said “do you know how I told him to cut them?” I said “no.” He said, with animated karate motions “in two halves mom.” I said “cool! What do two halves make Taylor?” Thinking he would say “a whole” because we have been studying fractions. Instead he said “two perfectly symmetrical pancakes mom.”

Taylor you are so very smart. I am pretty sure there is going to come a day when you know way more than I do. I love you little boy!

(Notes for context: Ryan gets the kids up in the morning and gets them started on breakfast, while I finish getting ready for work. Taylor sneaks into our bed every night and sleeps with us. Taylor is very picky about how he wants his pancakes cut. Sometimes he wants them in longneck strips, triangles, short-neck strips. Yes I did say longneck and short-neck strips! )

Mother’s Day Tea

On Friday I got to attend the Mother’s Day Tea at Emma Grace’s school and it was so very sweet to get to sit and have strawberry shortcake with my little lady and her friends. I love being a mommy to this little girl and her big brother. I cannot think of another job I would ever want!

Emma’s school is simply the best. They plan the most wonderful activities for the children and families. I am really looking forward to the Family Fun night next Friday. They usually bring in a whole petting farm and pony rides for the kids.

I love Emma Grace in this dress. I kept calling her "senorita."

This is Ginger and her boys. She and I are co-presidents for the Board of Directors that oversees the childcare at our Church.

Arkansas History Day at Taylor's School

Today Ryan and I had the change to help at Taylor's school during the Arkansas History Day. We had so much fun playing old fashion games, digging for the Hope Diamond, hearing stories from real cow boys, and Native Americans. Taylor is so lucky to get to go to such a great school.

Pretty Pretty Emma Grace

Emma Grace - I love you. You are so very sweet, yet so independent and feisty. I just love the little girl that you are growing into. Speaking of growing I must tell you the story of this little ice cream dress that you are wearing. I bought this for you from my favorite online store (www.shopjellybeans.com) when you were only one week old. It was my first little girl purchase (along with about 10 other outfits, but it was my favorite). They only had it in a 24 month and I have been waiting 2 years for you to get to wear it. Well I looked in your closet before church the other day, and saw how small it looked and decided we better go ahead and wear it that day because it will probably be the last. Nonetheless it was very cute - not sure that it was worth hanging onto for 2 years, but that is the way your momma works. I love you sweet pea.

Wendi's Wedding Shower

My friend and sorority sister Windi is getting married in Maui in a couple weeks, so this weekend we all got together and had a wedding shower for her. All of the women below pledged Kappa Delta together in 1998. What wonderful women they all are, and how lucky I am to know them. I wish we all lived closer so that we could hang out more often.

Bentonville, AR Earthquake

I thought I would just go ahead and jot this down for my own reference. Yesterday there was an Earthquake (2.5) in little old Bentonville, AR. I did not feel it but Mary and Lucy did while they were at home. Can you believe that – there have been so many natural disasters and earthquakes lately that it really makes me worry. Not in a fictitious Armageddon type way, but in real environmental human impact type of way. I have to wonder are we humans the ones that are bringing these types of situations on ourselves?
