Daily Activities

Even though I let the kids sleep in, and stay up late, I am trying to keep up with their Daily Activities. And trying to limit TV time. I will admit that we are watching a little bit more TV than I would like, but by the end of the day I need all of the help I can get, and I figure a cartoon or two will not hurt. I am pretty sure that I watched a lot more TV as a kid and I turned out alright!

Emma Grace and I love to do her flash cards and fun activities. I am so proud that my baby girl knows all of her numbers 0-10, and she know all of her letters, and the sounds that they make. She still gets stuck on N, J and Q sometimes but I think 23 out of 26 at 3 years old it pretty perfect.

Taylor has actually been spending a lot of time reading this summer. He is on his second chapter book, and once he reads 8 Barns and Noble will give him a free book! He is pretty excited to try and meet that goal. I might have also bribed him with a new back of Skylanders!

The babies and I are working on their animal and element flashcards. They are not usually impressed but at least they are getting exposed!

Baby Henry

I love these pictures, that I just found on my phone, of baby Henry.  I miss holding that little boy, and kissing his little cheeks, and smelling his newborn smell.  Aunt Laura will see you soon baby boy!

Popa Roy’s Surprise 60th Birthday

I think Popa Roy was very surprised at his 60th Birthday party, when he found all of his family and friends gathered to celebrate in style.  Ms. Peggy did an awesome job pulling this all together!  And I am so glad we were able to celebrate before leaving for Atlanta.

Isn't this cake cute!  The fisherman looks just like popa Roy and his fishing boat.

The Girls (Emma Grace, Lila Grace, and Britain)

The oldest Grand kids (Taylor, Lawson, Britain, Emma Grace, and Lila)

Emma Grace and Lila hiding under the table waiting to scare Popa Roy.

Sean and his new family, and kids!  So happy for Sean and Meranda.

Popa Roy and his three boys!  What fine men each one of them are.  I am so honored to be a part of this amazing family.
My beautiful Sister In Law Audrey.  I will so miss all the time that my family was able to spend with her family.  I loved watching Lila and Emma Grace grow up together.  We will plan lots of family vacations, but it will not be the same as our impromptu weekend gatherings.
Ryan swore he would never wear a baby.  A lot of things change when you have twins!

First Bath Together

I know one day you two are going to kill me for this, but I am your mother and it is my right of passage to embarrass you. My mother did it to me, and you will do it to your kids. You two have so much fun in the bath tub, that I thought you would have so much fun together in the bath tub, so I tried it out and you two loved it!!! So now we do it every night. I promise when you get a little bit older we will not take baths together.

I did a really god job of covering you guys up, but it looks like I should have covered myself up a little bit more! Those things are ginormous – I guess that is what happens when you nurse twins.

Church Hunting

Sunday we actually got out and made it to church! We are church hunting right now. I miss my old church and my old church friends. We really enjoyed all of the people at the church that we visited on Sunday, their nursery staff was phenomenal! The sermon was a little bit mundane. We had to leave halfway though church to go get Addison because she was so upset. I think she is a momma’s baby, and was having separating anxiety. It was okay that we had to leave early because we were really not impressed by the church service. Our goal is to find a church with a phenomenal children’s program, and where the Holy Spirit is alive during worship! Ryan and I know that it is out there and we are convinced we will find it. We are both opened to the denomination and the building and the experience, we are just playing that God leads us to where he wants us.

Sunday was really a calamity of unfortunate events. Addison throwing a fit and having to be picked up early, the kids fussing to get into church, getting Emma Grace out of the back of the car is the story of our life, both big kids complaining the whole service that they were starving, Emma Grace crying during service because she hit her head on the pew. When we got to the nursery and found Addison screaming we realized that the nursery workers had let Preston sneeze his whole fruit snack on himself and his closes were covered in bananas, and they informed me that I did not have a change of clothing. The fact that we got our whole family dressed up and out, and knew within 2 minutes that it was not the church for us.

After church we decided to grab the kids something quick to eat and go drive by our soon to be new house, and see what other church options were out there. When we stopped to get something to eat (through the drive thru) Emma Grace spilled water to Taylor, and it up set Taylor so much that we was in tears. After the morning that Ryan and I had had all we could do was laugh and that just make Taylor that much more mad. We chalked it up to another Coble family adventure and just went home!

However, it was not as bad as the night I caught the kitchen on fire in our corporate housing. I had no idea how we were going to explain it to Home Depot. Luckily I was able to blow hard enough and get the fire out! But, I now know firsthand what happens when you put water on a grease fire. Don’t try it. I knew better, but given that we are new to this living arrangement I had nothing to put on it but Fruit Loops and I did not know how well that would work out. Later that night after the smoke cleared out I did in fact find the fire extinguisher under the sink. This is really a separate blog post, and maybe I will take a picture of the blackened pan that Ryan would not let me throw out in fear of having to pay for.

Back to my original post, I was really proud that we all made it to church though! I am so very proud of my family and all of our adventures.

Friends and Bosses

This is my old boss Kellie, I miss her a bunch.  Not only was she my boss she was a dear friend, she still is but I just don't get to see her everyday anymore.  Work should be fun, and WhiteWave was a blast.  I will miss that!

Another Awesome Night at The Park

Our favorite thing to do when daddy gets home from work is pack up and head to the park, or go on an adventure.  Tonight was no exception.  We headed over to one of our favorite parks, and let the kids play on the play ground, we blew bubbles, we stopped to see the dogs at the dog park, and then we went on a walk around the trail. Along the way we stopped and let the kids catch fire flies.

We are loving our new lives in Atlanta. You would think that life would be crazy given that we moved to a big city, but really things have settled down so much.  We are not both trying to drive a carer, and ship kids all over town to be cared for when we are at work.  Our days don't start at 4:00 in the morning anymore.  The kids get to sleep in, instead of get up at 6:00 everyday.  Ryan and I are not dog tired at the end of the bed and fighting to make it to 8:30 so we can go to bed.  We actually enjoy staying up late with each other now and talking or watching TV.

We feel not rushed now, we feel that we are living a simpler life.  We are stopping and smelling the roses (or watch the kids catch fireflies for 30 minutes).  I thank God everyday for his perfect plan, and for our new adventures in life!
