Background Information - Private Blog Info

Some of you have asked me what people were looking at on my blog and how I found it. I actually would not have found it if my sister was not smart enough to look at my search feeds on my blog. (Thanks Sis!) She just looked at my most popular post that people were visiting and noticed that it was titled “Little N a k e d Girl” (I put spaces in between the N word so that it will not be picked up in search engines.) I guess this post was popping up when perverted people were googling child pornography, or this phrase exactly. My bad for naming a post this. I guess over the 4 years that I have been keeping a blog I have had roughly 33K hits and 6K of those hits were to this one post.

When this was pointed out to me on Tuesday I turned off the search engine capabilities, so that my blog would not pop up when people googled. But last night I was looking at my traffic feed and status reports and realized that people from all over the world were still looking at this post which did not make since because I had turned the search engine off, and renamed the post. But my husband pointed out to me that people might have the post bookmarked and were still pulling it up. Since last night I have deleted the post so that that webpage is not visible.

I really don’t want to take my blog private because I hate when people do it and I have to log in to view their pictures. I really don’t have the extra time to do that, and for some reason the private blogs always drop to the bottom of my “friend list” and I never think to go look at them because they appear to not be updated at first glance.

My action plan going forward: Clean up everything on my blog, that might interest some sick person. And going forward think really hard about the content that I write and attach in my post.

Emma Grace – mommy is sick to death about this and I am so sorry that I put your precious little picture out there for sick people in this world to see.

UGH... reading this made me sick to my stomach! I stumbled upon your blog awhile ago and have LOVED reading about your little... well "grown" family! I have 2 girls myself and it is a sick, sick world out there! I pray that everything will get cleaned up and taken care of for your sake and the well-being of your family!

God Bless!

Oh my goodness! I am so glad that your sister was looking at your stats!! I am so sorry that this happened to you and am glad you have come up with a solution. I often worry about people finding where a blogger lives via the things they post, what they do, places they often visit, etc..I guess its just another sign that we have to be careful what we post. Blogging is such a great way to document our lives however, reality is crazy people exist. Thank you for sharing.
Hope things are great!
