Emma’s First Real Food

On Friday night Emma tried real people (and not baby food) spaghetti for the first time. She loved it, and ever since has not been able to get enough “Grown Up” food.

She is also getting really good at hand eye coordination. She loves to put the balls in the caterpillar’s mouth. She also is great at playing the xylophone in the bathtub.

Happy 10 Months Emma

Emma today you are 10 months old. You are just growing up so very fast. You are quite independent. You love to crawl everywhere your brother is, and you love any pair of shoes you can get your hands on! You love live and are a pleasure to care for. Your daddy and I love you and don’t know what we did without you 10 months ago.

Here are some pictures of you now at 10 months vs. your preemie outfit that you wore as a new born. My how you have grown.

Week in Pictures

This has been such a wonderful weekend. My sister has been in town visiting from NYC, and we love having her home – especially Taylor!

This weekend Taylor go to do his “Spoil Me Rotten” weekend with Nene and Poppy in Brandson, and he had so much fun going to Silver Dollar City, staying at a hotel, and eating out.

At one point Taylor and Nene were in the car waiting on Poppy to get their Subway, and Taylor said to Nene “Nene which way are you looking?”
Nene: “well Taylor I am looking to my left.”
Taylor: “what do you see Nene?”
Nene: “well I see a little boy with his pants down going to the bathroom on that car tire.”
Taylor: “Nene, I see the same thing. Why is that little boy going to the bathroom on a car?”
You are too cute Taylor – evidently this situation really took you back, and made you think.

For my readers – I do have to apologize that you always see pictures of Emma. I do want everyone to know that I love my Taylor man just as much as Emma, but the child will not let me have any pictures of him. I just don’t want anyone to think that I favor one of my children over the other!

Taylor Funny

Last night as we were headed to the ball park for practice/team pictures Taylor starts yelling “oh mom, my foot is having a heart attack, these cleats are killing my feet, they are having a heart attack.” Silly little boy – I don’t even know what you know about having a heart attack.

Taylor Update

So we went to Little Rock on Friday to have Taylor’s ear checked on, and the verdict is that Taylor’s new eardrum has not started to detach itself (which is not what we wanted). The doctor thinks that he was probably too young to have the surgery in the first place, but because of the circumstances and the shape that his ear was in we needed to go ahead and try. The doctor is going to watch it for a few more years and then we will decide what to do next.

It really stinks that Taylor is going to have to have a 4th surgery on his precious little ear, but I just keep thinking if this is the worst thing that we have to deal with in life then we are doing pretty good.

The doctor did say that Taylor’s hearing is a little bit impaired, but that he has the hearing of a normal adult, and it is off a little bit for a child. So the good new is he can at least still hear pretty well out of little hear.

Mother's Day Pictures

Favorite Toy: (the cup)

Meet Our Newest Coble Addition

Lila Grace Coble (my brother-in-law/sister-in-law’s first baby) was born on Tuesday morning (5/12) at 1:31 in the morning. She was 6 pounds 13 ounces, and 20.5 inches long. Isn’t she beautiful!!!! We are going to have so much fun in life Lila!

She is certainly a Coble. Looking back on Emma and Taylor’s newborn pictures they look just a like. I think she looks the most just like Taylor did when he was born. They have the exact same facial features. See if you can see the resemblance:

Baseball Game #3

Today was the baseball game #3, and Taylor you did a very good job!!! Your Manna, Aunt Mary, and cousin Lucy came to watch you play. You were too funny by the end of the second game because you were sitting on the ground playing with your hat. Not even your dad or the coach could convince you to stand up. I have to admit that two game in a row are too many for 5 year olds.

New Milestones

Emma Grace you are now pulling up on everything, and tonight I caught you in your bed standing on both feet! You are getting too big for words. Yesterday I got to go to your and Taylor’s mother’s day tea at playschool and you helped me eat strawberry shortcake, and you loved every bite of it. You also tried ice cream for the first time tonight and could not get enough of it. When you were ready for more you would look at me and stick your little tong out and then clap. Too cute!!!

Weekly Update:

We have been so busy over the past week, so I thought I would make myself a quick list to go by:

* Filled a whole 30 yard dumpster this weekend with trash that has been dumped on our property. (We own 10 acres west of town that we have been meaning to clean for the past 2 years.) Feels great to finally have this project complete.
* My mom stopped by for a surprise visit. I have missed her so much, and have enjoyed her stay. (I long for the day that my parents move back home and are close by again.)
* Watched Taylor plant: peppers, egg plant, cucumbers, carrots, okra, and a yellow variety of green beans in his garden.
* Installed a new dish-washer (highlight of my month so far)!!!!
* Found out Taylor’s new eardrum is starting to detach itself. We go to Little Rock next Friday to confirm.
* It has rained for almost 40 days and 40 nights so far. I can’t wait to see the sun shine.
* Emma is starting to wean herself, and it is breaking this momma’s heart.
* Found out today that Emma has a double ear infection.
* Lucy started playschool on Monday and is in Emma’s class.
* My newest niece Lila is due any day and I can’t wait to meet her.

I’m sure that one day things will settle down a little bit, but I’m just not sure when. Here are some cute pictures of my babies to enjoy.
